Passenger traffic in the waiting hall is constant, and the combination of public address announcements, footsteps and the noise of trains pulling into the station, coupled with the hard architectural surfaces that tend to produce echoes and background noise, can make it difficult to hear and understand announcements. The use of multiple layers of acoustic materials—with acoustic nonwoven absorbing reflected sound waves, sound-absorbing cotton dampening ambient noise, and sound-insulating felt blocking sound transmission caused by vehicle vibrations—effectively regulates the sound field. This ensures that travel announcements are conveyed clearly and alleviates the discomfort caused by noise.
Typical Acoustic Design
The ceiling consists of perforated panels, with Silence Tech acoustic nonwoven attached to the rear of the panels.Typical perforation rate: 10%–30%; absorbs medium- and high-frequency sound waves, reducing echoes.In areas with high noise levels, an additional layer of sound-absorbing foam can be added on top of the sound-absorbing non-woven fabric in the suspended ceiling.
High-speed rail and underground stations generally use metal wall panels; fitting Silence Tech sound-insulating felt and Silence Tech sound-absorbing cotton or Silence Tech sound-absorbing foam to the rear of these panels can effectively prevent vehicle vibrations from propagating through the walls.
